St. Joseph Catholic Church has stood as a Tower of Faith for the Catholic community of Cincinnati, Ohio’s West End since 1846. Throughout its history and amid many transformational changes within its boundaries, the parish has remained resilient, adaptive, and a guidepost for the community it serves.
St. Joseph Catholic Church’s mission centers on a simple yet profound verse from the New Testament: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
St. Joseph remains the last standing Catholic Church in the West End from where its congregation, comprised of many Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky suburbs, worships in fellowship and offers spiritual and material outreach to those in need.
Where is the Holy Spirit Leading Us? As part of Synod 2027, Archbishop Casey invites each of us to participate in a Conversations in the Spirit listening session. Participants will join others across our archdiocese in prayerfully considering what the Holy Spirit is asking of our Church at this time, thereby assisting Archbishop Casey as he establishes pastoral priorities for the future. There are approximately 60 sessions scheduled between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Register today at https://catholicaoc.org/conversations.

For the Proper Use of Wealth
Let us pray for the proper use of wealth, that not succumbing to the temptation of selfishness, it may always be put at the service the common good and solidarity of those who have less.
The Disciple Maker Index
St. Joseph, Cincinnati, is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ in our parish
community. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship
so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith. A step on this journey involves assessing our greatest strengths and opportunities, and that is where the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) comes in! The DMI is an important survey tool that invites you to reflect on your discipleship journey here at
St. Joseph.
The Disciple Maker Index is designed to:
The 10–15-minute survey can be accessed through an online link from October 27 th through November 24 th and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide your perspective on our parish’s efforts to help you grow in relationship with Christ. All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole.
Here is the link to the survey: https://survey.catholicleaders.org/d/da143p . Paper surveys are also available for those who do not have the ability to complete the survey online. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.
Please continue to pray for this intention and for the growth and protection of our parish.
The Raise the Roof Campaign is a mission to secure funds needed to replace our roof and repair and repaint the interior from the damage caused by the roof, to ensure that our church is safe, and a welcoming home for all. Please click here for more details.
