The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati covers the southwest region of the U.S. state of Ohio, including the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton metropolitan areas. The Archbishop of Cincinnati is Most Rev. Dennis M. Schnurr. Through hundreds of parishes, schools, hospitals, agencies and institutions, the Archdiocese proclaims and follows the teachings of Christ that lead to peace, joy and the fullness of life. The diocese comprises almost half a million Catholics and was founded as a diocese in 1821. It is strong in faith and rich in tradition.
The Archdiocese also maintains an Office of African American Pastoral Ministries that provides information, material, and advocacy for black Catholics.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands who jointly exercise certain pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States.
The purpose of the Conference is to promote the greater good which the Church offers humankind, especially through forms and programs of the apostolate fittingly adapted to the circumstances of time and place.
The USCCB website also provides the daily Mass readings from the lectionary that comprise the official prayer life of the Church. Readings offer a meaningful way to get to know our Lord better in His Word.
The Catholic Telegraph is the official newspaper and news source of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. The Telegraph is one of the oldest newspapers in the United States, as it has been published continuously since 1831. Currently 149,200 subscribers receive the newspaper in their mailboxes each month. This website is another way in which the newspaper may continue its mission of proclaiming the Good News of the Catholic faith.
The St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a network of neighbors, inspired by Gospel values, whose hope is to grow in holiness and build a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need. SVDP’s vision is to bring faith alive through service to others, one neighbor at the time. Holiness of life, service to the poor, humility, simplicity, living in a community of faith, and charity comprise the organization’s core values.
The St. Joseph Conference of St. Vincent de Paul has been a member of this organization since 1898.
The Eternal Word Television Network, more commonly known by its acronym EWTN, is an American cable television network that presents around-the-clock Catholic-themed programming from around the world.
The Catholic News Agency is an institution of EWTN that provides news related to the Catholic Church to a global audience. Catholic News Agency was founded in 2004, in response to Pope St. John Paul II’s call for a “New Evangelization.” It is one of the fastest-growing Catholic news providers in the world.
The National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC) is an organization of African American Roman Catholics, founded in 1889 by Daniel Rudd as the Colored Catholic. Their symbol is the Acacia. Their mission is to improve and enrich the lives of African-American Catholics. The Congress’s website provides support, resources, historical information, and news for black Catholics.
The Knights of Peter Claver is the largest and oldest-continually extant, predominantly African American lay organization.The organization was founded in 1909 by Josephite Father Conrad Friedrich Rebesher, a native of Kłodawa, Poland. The Order is named after St. Peter Claver, a Jesuit priest from Spain who ministered to African Slaves as they arrived in the New World.
Their purpose is to render service to God and His Holy Church, render aid and assistance to the sick and disabled, and promote social and intellectual association among members.

The Catholic Cursillo of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is part of the worldwide Cursillo Movement of the Roman Catholic Church. Its purpose is to generate friendship among people, so that everyone might come to know that God, in Christ, loves them.
The three-day Cursillo weekend is a very special time of encountering Jesus Christ in a community of love; beyond the weekend, there are programs called Fourth Day that will fulfill one for a lifetime.
Founded in 1968, the National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus is an organization made up of African-American clergy, religious, and seminarians of the Roman Catholic Church. The group aims to support the spiritual, theological, educational, and ministerial growth of its members.
